The general objectives of the college arise out of its mission statement and are intellectual, personal, and spiritual in nature. These objectives are the expected results which the college desires for each of its students. The college anticipates that students who successfully complete their chosen undergraduate programs should:
1. Be committed to the conviction that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the inspiration of which is plenary and verbal so that the entire Bible is infallible and inerrant;
2. Possess a thorough Biblical training which includes an understanding of the chief content of the Books of the Bible and which comprises a thorough grasp of the fundamental doctrines of the Bible;
3. Utilize unique personal gifts for ministry which have been developed by practical, consistent, hands-on training;
4. Develop a commitment to worldwide evangelism;
5. Demonstrate growth in personal character in spirituality, responsibility, stewardship, and cooperativeness in personal relationships;
6. Adopt patterns of good health as a life-style;
7. Gain competence in a chosen field of Christian service, or give evidence of adequate preparation for related graduate-studies programs.
There are four areas of vital importance at WEBC: spiritual development, academic achievement, practical ministry, and good health. These all receive emphasis in the curriculum plan. WEBC chapel is a focal point in daily campus activities, giving rise to a description of the chapel period as “the classroom of the Holy Spirit.”
The Maynard Ketcham Health Fitness Building was opened in the fall of 1987 and offers students a well-rounded program of athletic activities. Student Ministry practicums round out the academic program with a wide variety of hands-on, practical ministry experiences. All of these elements of training are considered to be integral parts of proper preparation of young people for their God-given call to service.
